Matt Geiger Mock Draft 2/4

1. Kansas City Chiefs- Luke Joeckel (LT/Texas A&M)

Joeckel has the size and speed to make an immediate impact for a team who gave up 40 sacks last season. New coach Andy Reid hasnt drafted a quarterback in the first round since Donovan Mcnabb in '99 and wont do it this year either.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars- Jarvis Jones (OLB/Georgia)

Jones was a force for Georgia, tallying 28 career sacks. Jacksonville needs to improve their pass rush, and at 6'3 241 lbs. Jones will almost immediately make an impact.

3. Oakland Raiders- Damontre Moore (DE/Texas A&M)

Moore is ranked number 2 on my big board and Oakland has too many holes to pass up on the best available player. Look for them to bolster their pass rush with Moore.

4. Philadelphia Eagles- Chance Warmack (G/Alabama)

New coach Chip Kelly will love to have a guy that he can tailor into his system without having to rush him on the field. Kelly has some issues to address on defense but Philadelphia is in a good place with the roster they have.

5. Detroit Lions- Dee Milliner (CB/Alabama)

No brain pick for a team who struggled in the secondary. Millner can and will be a shut down corner in the NFL.

6. Cleveland Browns- Barkevious Mingo (DE/LSU)

Cleveland is moving in the right direction, and Mingo will only help. He can provide support in defending the run, and his pass rushing capability fills a huge hole.

7. Arizona Cardinals- Geno Smith (QB/West Virginia)

The bottom line here is that Arizona needs someone to get Larry Fitzgerald the ball. Smith will need to impress to stay in this spot, although Arizona will more than likely draft the best quarterback available.

8. Buffalo Bills- Mike Glennon (QB/N.C. State)

The Bills are going to save a lot of cap room by releasing Ryan Fitzpatrick. Glennon is going to be the face of the franchise, and has the size and arm to be a starter immediately.

9. New York Jets- Bjoern Werner (DE/Florida State)

The pass rush has been a major issue in New York for a while now. Werner can play 3-4 defensive end or pass rush from the outside at linebacker. He can also provide a major boost in run support as well.

10. Tennessee Titans- Star Lotulelei (DT/Utah)

The Titans have three defensive tackles hitting free agency, SenDerrick Marks will more then like walk if the money is right. Lotulelei is a mammoth and will bolster the Titans pass rush in a huge way.

11. San Diego Chargers- Eric Fisher (OT/Central Michigan)

Fisher's stock is rapidly rising. He had a great showing at the Senior Bowl, which should push him into the top 15. Mike McCoy wants to keep Phillip Rivers standing in the pocket instead of on the ground, and Fisher is a great pick.

12. Miami Dolphins- Terrance Williams (WR/Baylor)

Miami needs weapons for young quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Williams brings size and deceiving speed to a receiving core that needs a deep threat. This move allows Davon Bess to move back into the slot and create mismatches for him and Brian Hartline.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Dion Jordan (DE/Oregon)

Jordan is a very versatile player, having played tight end his freshman year. At 6'7 he could definitely bulk up before you'll truly see his full potential.

14. Carolina Panthers- Keenan Allen (WR/Tennessee)

No big surprise that Carolina brings in another weapon for Cam Newton. Steve Smith is getting older, and may not have much left in the tank. Allen should be the number two receiver when Carolina kicks off week one.

15. New Orleans Saints- Kenny Vaccaro (S/Texas)

The Saints have a lot of things to address with their players hitting free agency. Vaccaro will be an immediate starter for New Orleans. His size and speed make him a perfect player to pair up with safety Malcolm Jenkins.

16. St. Louis Rams- Lane Johnson (OT/Oklahoma)

St. Louis needs to address the offensive line as early as possible in the draft. they have holes at wide receiver, but they'll be looking to protect Sam Bradford before doing anything else.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers- Eddie Lacy (RB/Alabama)

With Chris Rainey gone, and every other back a free agent, Pittsburgh will look to draft a smash mouth runner. Lacey has shown he can run inside and outside, but might need a little work on his hands.

18. Dallas Cowboys- Johnathan Hankins (DT/Ohio State)

Dallas needs depth on the defensive line and "Big Hank" can give them exactly what they're looking for. Hankins is a big bodied lineman, who can play tackle or end if needed.

19. New York Giants- Manti Te'o (MLB/Notre Dame)

The Giants need a dominant force on the inside of their run defense. Te'o isnt my highest rated inside linebacker, but he is very smart and his instincts lead him to the ball. Off field issues should not be a concern for anyone looking to draft Te'o.

20. Chicago Bears- Alec Ogletree (MLB/Georgia)

Brian Urlacher is getting old and Chicago needs a replacement. Ogletree can play weak side while Urlacher is still with the team, and will take over the strong side when he is gone. Ogletree was recruited to Georgia as a safety, and is exceptional in pass coverage.

21. Cincinnati Bengals- Johnathan Cooper (G/North Carolina)

Most teams are weary of drafting guards in the first round. Warmack and Cooper should both end up as first round picks. Cooper possesses great athleticism and experience and I see him as an upgrade from anyone currently on the Bengals roster.

22. St. Louis Rams (via Washington) - Eric Reid (S/LSU)

Jeff Fisher doesnt draft receivers in the first round. Instead, he'll look to Reid to boost the Rams' secondary. St. Louis got exceptional play from their corners last year, but were missing a center fielder badly. Reid can also move into the box and provide run support.

23. Minnesota Vikings- Sylvester Williams (DT/North Carolina)

DT Kevin Williams is a 32 year old free agent. If Minnesota brings him back they'll still be able to add depth to the interior line. Williams lacks the consistency to be a starter right now, but his size and strength should translate well into the NFL.

24. Indianapolis Colts- D.J. Fluker (OT/Alabama)

Look for the Colts to continue to build on their roster success from last year by adding pass protection for Andrew Luck. Fluker has a massive frame which might restrict him to the right side of the line, or even a switch to guard.

25. Seattle Seahawks- Ezekiel Ansah (DE/BYU)

Seattle has been unpredictable in the draft the past few years (Bruce Irvin was a projected 4th round pick last year.). Seattle doesn't need much help on the defensive side, but Ansah is a unique player. With no previous football experience until college, he can be molded to fit perfectly in Pete Carroll's system.

26. Green Bay Packers- Zach Ertz (TE/Stanford)

Green Bay could draft a running back here, but they dont run the ball enough to spend a first round pick on a back. Ertz will add to the arsenal of weapons around Aaron Rodgers, and excels in the blocking game too.

27. Houston Texans- Johnathan Banks (CB/Mississippi State)

Banks is the second best corner in the draft, and should plug right into nickel and dime packages for Houston. The Texans might lose a few players in their secondary in free agency, but Banks will be a viable replacement.

28. Denver Broncos- Johnathan Jenkins (DT/Georgia)

None of Denvers defensive tackles are under contract going into the NFL draft. Presuming they dont retain all of them, Jenkins is the pick here. He can fit into 3-4 and 4-3 schemes, and is a great run stuffer.

29. New England Patriots- Tavon Austin (WR/West Virginia)

Unsure of which receivers will be returning next year, the Patriots will draft a receiver that can be molded into their system. Austin has speed and runs precise routes, which should make him a favorite target for Tom Brady.

30. Atlanta Falcons- Tyler Eifert (TE/Notre Dame)

Future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzales is most likely retiring. Even if he does come back, Eifert will be able to learn from the best tight end the league has ever seen.

31. San Fransisco 49ers- Desmond Trufant (CB/Washington)

The niners will be looking to add to the stingy defense they put on display last season.Trufant had an awesome senior bowl, and showed his lock down capability all year at Washington. He jumps a few players to sneak into the first round.

32. Baltimore Ravens- Matt Elam (S/Florida)

The uncertainty of Ed Reeds return is the reason for this pick. Even if he returns, Elam can learn a whole lot from possibly the best safety to ever play the game.
